Troop 157 – Herndon, VA was founded in 1934. We’re chartered under the Reston Lions Club, but physically based out of Herndon United Methodist Church, meeting there weekly, every Tuesday night at 7:00 pm.
A Scout pays his own way. Scouts volunteer at the tree stand to raise funds for their registration, camping fees, grub money, activity fees, and more. In the past, over 95% of the troop’s funds have come from this event alone.
Not only is this our primary annual fundraiser, it is a 35+ year tradition for Troop 157 to sell trees in the Town of Herndon.
We are once again teaming up with Scout Troop 1577, and our trees will be coming from a town in Pennsylvania that’s dubbed the “Christmas Tree Capital of the World.”
Thank you to Holy Cross Lutheran, Town of Herndon, and HRI Associates for making this event possible. Merry Christmas!
